Seattle - October 2011

Here's the first batch of photos from my recent vacation in Vancouver. Only they are from our day trip to Seattle!

Marco and I went up the Space Needle, had lunch at Pike Place Market, and went to see the first ever branch of Starbucks. I hope you enjoy reliving the day with me:

After we had had our share of sightseeing, we met up with Marco's old high school friend Martin and his family.

And as a true Big Bang Theory fan, I just had to make Marco stop at The Cheesecake Factory on the way home. Disappointingly, it looked nothing like on the show inside. More like a bar and nightclub. But the cheesecake was GOOD. We ordered one piece of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake and one of White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cheesecake for on the road. The pieces were so big that I could not finish mine, so the only thing we declared at the US-Canadian border on the way back home was "a half-eaten piece of cheesecake".

  11. Gorgeous photos, as usual. Seattle's such a fun city! And I'm sorry that The Cheesecake Factory let you down—it's really kind a ridiculous restaurant, but the cheesecake is delish. :)

  12. Annika, love the photos. Your trip took my down memory lane. I was just there in February. I had never been before and was so excited to finally visit this part of the west coast.
I loved Seattle. We went to many of the same places you did. Did you have lunch at Lowell's? We ate upstairs on the third floor and had a beautiful view of Puget Sound.
The Public Market is fantastic and your photos represent that experience so well.
Oh and I am a Big Bang Theory fan as well. And always found it ridiculous that they made the restaurant on the show so ordinary. The one in downtown Chicago has a super cool interior. Which makes for great ambiance and a fantastic dining experience.
Thanks so much for sharing. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting your website. :)
